Monet series of paintings of the Houses of Parliament had a great influence on this work. He showed how different light qualities could change the hues and colours. He would work on one canvas for a period of time and then change to another canvas when the light changed. I revisited phone box’s at different times of the day also when the light changed. So the light refracted and came through the perspex creating a totally different appearance.
